After Club Dread, I was quite ready for Beerfest to suck. I am so glad that Beerfest didn’t live up to my expectations.

It’s like Fight Club, but with drinking games. The Broken Lizard crew came up with some hilarious variations on the old standbys and even some ones that were new to me – but they failed to include the main two games from my formative drinking years – Three Man and I Never. I can’t remember how the fuck to play Three man – but I know it involved dice and making up stupid rules. (My favorite rule was the “Little Man” rule.) I Never is a much simpler drinking game – the players each take turns saying things they have never done and those who HAVE done it have to drink. (This game is GREAT for unearthing lesbian tendencies and finding out who is having sex with whom.) I doubt that I’ll ever play a drinking game again, but at least I can live vicariously through the Beerfesters.

It took me forever to get the joke behind ‘Schnitzengiggles.’ Why isn’t there a German fern garden restaurant? The Australians have Outback, the Irish (used to) have Bennigan’s (I want a fucking Monte Cristo in the worst fucking way) and the Chinese have P.F. Chang’s – all the Germans have is Weinerschnitzel and it’s not even really German food.

Barry the Man Whore was my favorite character – I think I just have a soft spot for Man Whores. Fink was my second favorite character – I have a soft spot for scientists that experiment on frog junk.

Cloris Leachman is enjoying a surge in popularity right now that is downright bizarre. The ancient Oscar winner is still hanging around Dancing with the Stars as of this writing – she can’t possibly win, can she? (No, I don’t watch that SHIT – I watch The Soup.) before that, I saw her on The Comedy Central Roast of Bob Saget – I’m guessing Bea Arthur was booked and they needed a subject for the stock dusty pussy jokes. My point is that her current surge in popularity may have originated from her turn as the sausage-gobbling Great Gam Gam in Beerfest. Nothing turns around your career like playing a slutty grandma…

So when is Potfest coming out?
